Welcome to Strickland Custom Knives. I began handcrafting knives in 1983 and specialize in high quality knives at an affordable price. I’ve been an avid deer hunter since 1968, and know what a joy it is to use a great knife in the field.

   I make folding knives and fixed blades, using primarily 440C stain resistant steel for the blades. I also offer other steels on request, including stainless damascus.

    Handle materials range from exotic hardwoods to micarta to horn and pearl.  One of the great things about having a custom knifemaker create something for you is that you get to select what materials will be used. The end result is a one-of-a-kind creation that springs from your own mind. The knives I make are built to be handed down from generation to generation. The addition of etching names, initials or other personal phrases on the blade can make a knife into a unique gift unlike any other.

My knifemaking was featured nationally in  Knives Illustrated magazine.

Knife shown is the  Sam Classic model. This was a special knife, made with stainless Damascus steel blade and mother of pearl handles. The bolster is titanium, etched in a honeycomb pattern. Go to the FOLDER page to see more folding knives.

Knife shown is the Texas Hunter model. This was a special knife, handled in elk. The end of the shell casing from the first 30-30 round fired from the customer’s new rifle was inlaid in the handle. Go to the FIXED BLADES page to see more hunting knives.

I believe what talents I have are GOD given. For that reason, every knife I make has a cross etched on the blade.
